Arken

Arken is an annex to an existing cabin in the Hurum peninsula. The client wanted a playful cabin in CLT that did not damage the surrounding terrain or pollute the environment. The materials used are spruce CLT, wood fiber insulation and untreated heart pine from Telemark. The building is integrated into the existing terrain, with two wings extending across small rocks which look towards the forest on one side and the ocean on the other. The larger wing which  faces towards the forrest is for resting, and towards the ocean is for writing.  The wall of the adjoining shed leans backwards to provide a backrest to the bench on the wooden terrace. Architecturally designed, built, and delivered by Oslotre.
